Government Partnerships and Mass Notification: A Strong Combination
Mass notifications are becoming more and more a part of our day-to-day life. From schools issuing COVID-related shutdowns to Amber Alerts, earthquake drills and more, municipalities are turning to mass notifications to inform their communities about emergencies and other urgent information.
Mass notifications issued by government agencies aren’t only useful during emergencies. Municipalities large and small can inform an entire town about trash pickup after a storm or holiday, tell employees about road or parking lot closures, and inform government contractors about changes in benefits.
Mass notifications are designed for both emergencies and operational continuity. Every weather-related emergency, or threat from potential criminals, requires a swift reaction. Regular communications about road closures or employee communications are effective and useful.
What we’ve learned over the years is that the same easy-to-use, scalable system can be used for both types of communications.
Regroup has been serving clients and government agencies since 2006. Its relationships with government agencies are award-winning and strong. We value these agencies and value our partnerships.
Some Examples:
NOAA: Regroup is recognized as a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Weather-Ready Ambassador for helping communities remain resiliency during weather emergencies.
FEMA and IPAWS: Regroup works with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and its Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Capabilities
ShakeAlert: Mass notifications are at the forefront of helping residents and entire towns stay safe in case there is an earthquake. Regroup has for years partnered with the ShakeAlert program that helps test systems to warn people in earthquake-prone zones that an earthquake may be imminent and what to do to protect themselves and their families.
In addition, the platform as been recognized by the Annual ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards as a Platinum Award Winner, citing its geotargeting capabilities and its response to major emergencies.
In addition, mass notifications serve governments in other ways, other than at the federal level. Four examples:
- We’ve worked to help our clients stage evacuation sites during historic wildfires
- We’ve worked to inform entire communities surrounding a local university cyberattack
- We work to help shoreline communities inform their residents and tourists about dangerous riptide conditions
- We’ve worked with tribal communities to help protect their residents from sex trafficking
As Regroup grows, we are also growing our internal team to include more specialists in the area of security and safety. If you’re interested in hearing more about how we can help you with your mass communication needs, schedule a free customized demo today.
