Regroup + IPAWS: Keeping your Community Safe and Informed
FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) is a national system for local alerting that enables approved authorities to send life-saving information to the public through SMS/Text, phone, TV, radio, and public feeds.
Regroup is one of the select organizations that has successfully demonstrated IPAWS capabilities, including WEA 2.0/3.0.
Regroup’s IPAWS capabilities allow administrators to send warnings and alerts to the public through our easy-to-use interface. Public alerts that are sent through Regroup’s system include:
Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA)
Activate cellular towers in geo-targeted areas to send text messages to mobile phones in areas impacted by critical events.
Emergency Alert System (EAS)
Send text-based alerts to local television channels and audio alerts to local radio stations.
Non-Weather Emergency Message (NWEM)
Send short audio messages to be broadcast on NOAA Radio and other NWS locations.
Collaborative Operating Group (COG-to-COG)
Collaborate better by sharing messages with nearby authorities with access to IPAWS.
