Notification platform will be a major upgrade to the alert system

Regroup Mass Notification, the award-winning leader in emergency and day-to-day communication technology, announced today that it has been selected by Cecil County, MD, to deliver emergency and critical alerts to its more than 100,000 residents. The CAP 1.2 compliant platform will guarantee real-time communication when emergencies strike.

By leveraging Regroup’s technology, the county will significantly improve critical communication and enable residents to receive automated NOAA Alerts for severe weather, count on multi-channel communication that integrates with FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert Warning System (IPAWS) and access an innovative mobile app for on-the-fly, two-way communication. Users will also be able to reach public safety officials, emergency personnel and citizens based on their location thanks to advanced geo-targeting messaging capabilities.

“We are very happy to be partnering with Regroup. We are looking forward to implementing Regroup’s advanced technology, which will ultimately provide a better emergency notification service to the citizens of Cecil County, Maryland,” said Chief Richard Brooks, the county’s Director of Emergency Services.

Most residents of Cecil County will automatically be enrolled to receive alerts based on the information provided by the county’s 911 residential and commercial database. However, residents are encouraged to sign up online to receive important notifications by phone call, text alerts, email and more on their wireless phone. Any information provided when signing up for notifications is only utilized for emergency alert purposes. To review your contact information and preferences visit: www.ccdes.org
