Introducing WhatsApp Delivery in Regroup: Reach More People, Wherever They Are
Reliable communication shouldn’t depend on a company-issued phone—or the limitations of costly international SMS. That’s why we’ve introduced the WhatsApp Delivery Method in the Regroup platform, expanding mass notification delivery through one of the world’s most widely used and trusted messaging channels.
WhatsApp delivery gives organizations a more reliable way to reach global and distributed audiences through a platform they already use every day. When combined with Regroup’s existing notification methods, it has the potential to improve engagement and provide even greater message effectiveness.
Why WhatsApp?
WhatsApp is an increasingly important delivery method for a mass notification system because it combines global reach, high engagement, and reliable delivery in a channel people already use daily. In many regions of the world, and for billions of users, WhatsApp is a primary communication platform. It has the potential to be more effective as a delivery channel for critical or time-sensitive notifications than SMS or email for reaching mobile audiences.
Features like two-way replies and read receipts (when permitted) can also give organizations better visibility into engagement during critical communications, without requiring recipients to install new apps or change their behavior.
WhatsApp & Regroup’s Notification System
WhatsApp functions as an additional delivery method, working alongside SMS, voice calls, email, and many other delivery methods available to admins within Regroup. Once enabled, it follows the same delivery rules that administrators already use: phone number filtering, phone types, custom content, and reporting.

How it works
WhatsApp Delivery is designed to fit seamlessly into existing Regroup workflows, with minimal setup and centralized control.
- Enable WhatsApp as a Premium Add-On
WhatsApp is available as a premium add-on. Once enabled, administrators can configure WhatsApp at the organization level.
- Choose how messages are sent
Connect your own WhatsApp Business account to deliver messages from your organization’s branded account.
- Send and receive messages
Select WhatsApp as a delivery method when sending notifications. Recipients can reply directly through WhatsApp, just as they would with SMS or email.
- Track delivery and engagement
Monitor sent, failed, and read messages, with read-time visibility when available, directly within Regroup’s reporting tools.
Delivery You Can See and Measure
WhatsApp reporting is fully integrated into Regroup message reports. Read receipts are provided directly by WhatsApp and may update days or weeks later, depending on when recipients view the message, offering long-tail engagement visibility you don’t get with traditional SMS.
Read status reports include:
- Yes – Message was read (with timestamp)
- No – Delivered but not read
- Read receipts
A Smarter Way to Reach a Global Workforce
Adding WhatsApp to your multi-channel delivery strategy reduces friction, improves international delivery reliability, provides domestic delivery redundancy, and provides greater visibility into message engagement.
With this new sending method, Regroup continues to evolve how modern organizations communicate — making critical notifications faster, more reliable, and better aligned with how people connect today.
