Regroup Mass Notification, an award-winning provider of a powerful mass communication platform, today announced the winner of its second annual Regroup Ready Award. Western Illinois University has been selected as the 2020 Regroup Ready Award winner.
The Regroup Ready award program was created to recognize and reward organizations or institutions that are using Regroup in exceptional or creative ways to keep people safe and informed. Nominations included clients that use Regroup for day-to-day communications to save time and improve operations, and those who have used emergency notifications for life-saving updates and team mobilization.
After evaluating dozens of submissions, Western Illinois University was named a winner for demonstrating the critical role played by Regroup in keeping the university community — parents, students, and staff — safe during an active shooter situation.
The Regroup system was utilized by risk management personnel to continuously update the community about the ever-changing situation. Over more than 15 hours, Regroup’s text, phone, and email capabilities were used to reach more than 180,000 recipients.
Besides using Regroup during this rare violent incident, Western Illinois University demonstrated Regroup readiness by supporting their communication strategy with our easy-to-use notification system for everyday use.
“Stories of success such as the one demonstrated by Western Illinois University gives us the motivation to work hard every day and continue to provide an effective and reliable notification solution,” said Chris Utah, COO of Regroup. “We are grateful to know we are making a difference in the lives of those who trust us as their partners.”
