Emergency Notification System Pricing – How to Compare 7: Customer Service and Training

 

Getting to the bottom of emergency notification system pricing and understanding the likely costs and benefits offered by different providers is not easy. Getting it wrong can not only cost more over the life of the contract, but could also delay incident recovery and ultimately, cost lives. This is the seventh in a series of articles about some of the features that can significantly affect the total cost of an emergency messaging system, but which can also be difficult to understand.

In the last article in the current series, we will consider some of the less obvious issues such as training, support and customer service options. These are amongst the hardest to place monetary values on, but if you neglect these issues, you could find yourself regretting it! Among the issues that you should consider are:

1. User-Friendly

Is the system intuitive and easy to use? Can everything be done from a single page, and how many clicks does it take to get there? In an emergency staff will be harassed and much more likely to make mistakes, having a quick and simple to use system (such as Regroup) can save a lot of trouble.

2. Support

Can your provider offer support when and where it is needed? In a crisis, could they launch an emergency notification for you (if all your trained staff were incommunicado)? Do they offer advice and assistance in areas such as standard message formats, integration with other systems (not necessarily emergency related)?

 3. Training

Can your provider offer training for all staff? Will they charge extra when natural staff turnover requires additional training sessions?

4. Speed and Flexibility
